Ammonia is an extremely toxic compound which in high enough quantities can be fatal to any living being inside your aquarium. It is produced by fish urine, uneaten fish food, dead and decaying plants and insects. By using the API Ammonia Test Kit for Freshwater and Saltwater aquariums, you can accurately find out the level of ammonia present in the water very quickly and this test provides readings between 0 and 8ppm (parts per million).
